The world of photography can be overwhelming. There is so much to learn but where do you start? Let me help you navigate this industry as we foster your skills and creativity. Whether you prefer to learn one on one, hands on with a small group, or independently during social outings there is something for each individual's needs.
I want to help you along this journey and share my passion and experience with you. For the past 5 years photography has been my primary focus and before that I was a teacher with a focus in art for over 1o years. My extensive background in teaching has helped the education side of my business flourish. Apart from my busy landscape and portrait business I have worked with hundreds of photographers and led over 200 photography events/workshops in the last few years alone.
It's important for me to give back to the photography community and that is why you'll see many free social offerings as well as affordably priced education opportunities. Community is much more fun than competition. Come shoot with me!
Group workshops are not only fun they are cost effective as well. All of my workshops are hands on style trainings so your new skills are reinforced with real life applications. Small class sizes allow for personal attention for everyone to ensure that no one gets left behind. Workshops are added every few weeks and can be seen listed on Photoworks Maryland. Group workshop start at $40 and range in price depending on time, materials, and topic.
Sometimes you just need something more specialized than a group workshop. During 1:1 mentoring sessions you'll receive individualized education to meet your personal needs. I'm here to help from opening the box of your shiny new DLSR to more advanced skills like portrait and studio work, off camera flash, or fine art landscape techniques. I'm an open book and happy to share my photography knowledge. I'm available for mentoring sessions in Maryland, Massachusetts, and online as well. Mentoring sessions start at $220 and range in price depending on time of session, materials, and topic.
There is something to be said when you spend time with photographers of all skill levels. Our Meetup Group Naptown Photo is a wonderful melting pot of photographers from hobbyists to full time professionals. We have a little bit of everything and our community-driven group has become a wonderful source of education through osmosis during our fun social events. The more advanced photographers offer inspiration and exposure to new techniques and technology, while the beginner photographers are friendly and passionate. The love for photography is shared by all and our events are a great place to hone your craft.
It's said that you become the five people you spend the most time with. That can also be applied to photography. If you don't put yourself out there and spend time with other photographers you're missing a wonderful growth opportunity. You can RSVP to the latest photography workshop at Photoworks Maryland.
